Christmas often comes with brightness, beauty, and excitement. In many ways, it is our collective attempt to step out of disenchantment and rediscover a sense of wonder. Because the truth is our hearts long for wonder, to feel the stir of beauty and possibility, to experience the unexplainable. Yet the first Christmas was remarkably ordinary. A story not of spectacle, but of simplicity. It unfolded among ordinary people in an ordinary place. And within what seems simple, God was at work in miraculous ways.
This Advent, we’re slowing down to rediscover the beauty of the ordinary. The humble, human, and holy moments that reveal God’s presence. The story of Jesus’ birth reminds us that the extraordinary often hides in plain sight. Through prophecy and lineage, faith and obedience, promise and fulfillment, we see that heaven meets earth not through grandeur, but through grace.
With candlelight and carols, we will reflect on the humility of a God who chose to enter the world not in power, but in presence. This season, may we learn to encounter the wonder of God in the beautifully ordinary moments around us.

We are deeply grateful for everyone who made Affordable Christmas possible this year. Through donated items, financial support, and countless volunteer hours, your generosity helped us serve 98 families, provide gifts for 250+ children, mobilize 241 volunteers, partner with 7 sponsors, and collect 1,400+ gifts. And there were so many other wins we could never fully measure. Moments of connection, restored hope, and shared laughter. These moments remind us that when the church shows up with generosity, humility and love, the impact reaches far beyond what numbers can capture.
Thank you!
