In Nehemiah 3—4, we see a remarkable picture of God's people working together in the midst of opposition: the high priest, priests, Levites, and non-temple workers; goldsmiths and perfumers; servants and officers; people from towns near and far; one "next to" the other rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Here we see the impact of the good hand of God strengthening the hands of the people through Nehemiah's leadership (2:18).
