Senior Executive Assistant


The Senior Executive Assistant is responsible to implement systems and structures to carry out assignments as assigned by the pastors of the Ministry Development Team. This position requires project and content management leadership with a focus on communication. Additionally, this position will provide strategic administrative and organizational support to the pastors of the Ministry Development Team as they work across Journey location and departments.


The Executive Assistant will demonstrate competence in the following areas:

  1. Proficiency in the use of computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
  2. Database Management (Planning Center Online, Asana) and Internet
  3. High level of enthusiasm
  4. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Executive Assistant is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:

Daily Responsibilities

  1. Project manage key initiatives and strategic priorities as delegated by the Executive Pastor
  2. Communicate on behalf of and serve as a proxy for the pastors of the Ministry Development Team by leading or participating in meetings as assigned
  3. Create and distribute follow-up plans from key strategic meetings
  4. Develop and manage various projects related to the Ministry Development Team and on the Staff Leadership Team
  5. Manage the pastors of the Ministry Development Teams calendar
  6. Manage and respond to incoming emails on behalf of the Ministry Development Team
  7. Complete “to do” list provided by the Ministry Development Team  

Office Administration

  1. Take notes and be present in all key meetings for the Executive Pastor
  2. Schedule and coordinate speaking events on behalf of the Senior Pastor
  3. Oversee and develop global calendar across The Journey

Provide Meeting Support

  1. Attend and/or lead meetings with and/or on behalf of the Executive Pastor as requested
  2. Provide operational support for quarterly Journey-wide elder meetings

Connection Activities

  1. Assist with personal management tasks as needed
  2. Oversee management and execution of staff events including All-Staff Lunches, Staff Retreat, End of Year Staff Party, and Elder/Staff Easter Worship Night
  3. Lead and execute all “One Church” events across The Journey, which includes Volunteer Rally, Prayer and Worship Night, and One Church Celebration

Service Support

  1. Collaborate on ideas and initiatives with the Senior and Executive Pastors
  2. Create and distribute sermon slides

Working Conditions

Status: Full-time, salary

Schedule/Hours: 40-45 hrs/week
