Basic Job Description

The Church Administrator serves to administratively support the lead pastor, staff, and ministries of The Journey Hanley Road. This individual will demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a diligent self-starter who is able to multitask, prioritize, and self-direct. Some day-to-day responsibilities could include:

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assist lead pastor in managing his calendar (meeting rhythms and document preparation) expense reports, and various administrative projects
  2. Manage multiple calendars (lead pastor, Hanley Road, Journey global, security, city) to ensure integration, alignment, and execution of events and activities
  3. Administer and manage Hanley Road Planning Center Online groups, initiatives and events including sign-up processes, content management, and updating member contact information
  4. Collaborate with the Creative Communications Team to execute Hanley Road promotions and to secure all presentation needs for services (bulletins, slides, announcements, videos)
  5. Coordinate with Hanley Road and Journey Central staff/volunteers to address facility needs and requests at Hanley Road
  6. Scheduling host teams to serve during Sunday worship services
  7. Respond to/re-assign and track communication inquiries via and respond to inquiries in a timely and pastoral manner
  8. Manage all church communication and strategize with other key staff and leaders on promotions
  9. Communicate with elders, lead, rs and congregants regarding upcoming meetings/events, including administering monthly newsletter
  10. Manage connect card Planning Center workflow
  11. Manage the process for Hanley Road event requests (facilities and calendar alignment and approval)  
  12. Meet with Kol Rinah staff member weekly to share/receive calendars and general information
  13. Oversee the organizing and ordering of supplies for Hanley Road as needed
  14. Greet visitors, answer the telephone, screen and direct calls, take and relay messages
  15. Oversee the process of requests for building keys and purchasing cards (Schnucks, SAMS)
  16. Participate in Journey Global Church Administrator Team meetings
  17. Attend Hanley Road staff meetings, Hanley Road All Leader Meetings, and Journey All-Staff meetings
  18. Assist with administrative tasks of Journey Kids and Students
  19. Manage inventory and purchase of all supplies (communion and coffee)
  20. Support other staff and ministry leaders as determined by lead pastor
  21. Track expenses for supplies, event vendors, and other needs
  22. Make copies, create documents/spreadsheets for reporting/tracking data, organize and file documents, and take meeting minutes/notes

Status: Part-time, hourly (non-exempt)

Hours: 25 hours/week
