Church Family,

Last Sunday I told you that I would be reading John 13 every day this week to reflect on Jesus’ love for us and His command to love one another.  I hope many of you joined along with me during your personal devotion times.  As a staff, we prayed this week, thanking God for His great love for us, and asking Him to help our church faithfully embody love for one another.  And as we started to talk about the immediate needs within our church family, we began to feel a bit overwhelmed.

The needs in front of us extend beyond our own ability to address, and there are many additional needs, within our church and community, of which we aren’t even aware.  Thankfully, God hasn’t asked us, as a staff, to meet all of these needs on our own.  He has created the church to join Him in caring for His people.

That is why it’s so important we steward our time, talent, and treasure well.  As we prayed, we asked God to use our church, and all the diverse gifts represented here, to be His hands and feet.  What if we all were faithfully embodying love to one another?  What if we were willing to selflessly serve one another in love?  Imagine the impact we could have!

Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”    -John 13:34-35

The world will notice! Imagine the witness we might be to our neighbors and even the nations if we loved like that!!

I am praying God would make us that kind of church.

In Him,

Pastor Scott

It’s in our human heart to be a part of something. And as God’s people, He has called us out by grace and unleashed us to the world to bring change through the gospel of Jesus – by being a part of the church. Pastor Curtis shares here a preview and vision for our upcoming fall sermon series on the church – its purposes, its people, and who it is through God’s eyes. We'll begin this new series on Sunday, September 8, at The Journey West County!

Mark your calendars - we receive our next exciting update on Sunday, September 8th!

September 6-8th is the perfect opportunity to engage culture by attending Manchester's annual Homecoming event! This is a fun way for everyone to be on mission: to be in the community, meeting new people and sharing the love of Christ. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors, too!!
Journey Kids is taking over The Magic Houseon September 22! We are coming together as one church, at one of St. Louis' favorite places, to celebrate our littles and be in community with our church family. Invite your friends and neighbors to join in the fun and take advantage of the special rate!
Spencer Thomas has been on staff at The Journey West County for six years. While he has filled many roles during that time, he has most recently operated as our Director of Care, leading our deacon team and responding to care needs within our church and community.
Spencer recently accepted a call to become the Pastor of Care and Counseling at a church in Wisconsin. While we will miss him greatly, we're so excited to see how God plans to use him, and his family, to impact those within the Green Bay area.

On Saturday, September 21, the Thomas Family will be at church from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for a going away reception. This would be a great time to stop by and send them off with well wishes and notes of encouragement. Please RSVP if you're able to attend. The Thomas' last Sunday with us will be the following day, September 22.

Sign up today! Registration closes this Tuesday, September 3rd.
