MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT

DEACON MINISTRY

The Journey South County deacons provide care, relationship, and guidance to members and regular attendees who may be struggling with a variety of needs. As deacons, we come alongside those in need, assisting with physical needs, such as help with financial issues, counseling, food/meals, transportation, and many other areas. We provide spiritual support in the process.

The first step to being a deacon at The Journey South County is nomination to the elders. One can nominate him/herself or a church member can nominate another member. The process for becoming a deacon includes self-assessment, elder review, training, and working alongside other deacons. After a successful process, the candidate will be installed as a deacon.

If you feel called to the deacon ministry or you know of a member who has a heart for service, please let one of our elders know. If you know of someone who is currently in need of assistance from the deacons, please contact one of the deacons.

UPCOMING EVENTS & NEWS

One of our church community groups is proud to partner with the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation and Operation Food Search for the 18th Annual Warners’ Warm-up Coat Drive by serving as a drop-off location for new and gently used coats of all sizes. The drive will take place from November 1-14. We encourage everyone to donate and help us spread the word by telling your family, friends, and neighbors.

You can drop off coats at The Journey South County THIS Sunday, November 4.

Journey Students (across all our locations!) are invited to join us for RELENTLESS – this year’s fall retreat at Lake Williamson! We’ll be encountering Jesus as the relentless savior and king He is in His pursuit of relationship with us. (Plus bonfires, camp food, a high ropes course, and more!)
At The Journey South County, Journey Students in grades 6-12 meet together on Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m. For questions or more information, email studentsSC@thejourney.org.

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT
We want to show our appreciation and thanks to the Millheim/Moran Community Group! This group of people served together this past weekend, not only in Journey Kids, but also on the production/tech team and collected coats for the Warners Winter Warm-up. They portrayed a beautiful picture of the gospel and embodying love!

PRAYER GROUP

Would you like to pray alongside others for the needs of the church?

We are starting a new prayer group, and we'd like to invite you to be a part! If you'd like to join and receive regular prayer requests, please email Laura, and she'll add you to the group.
