Serving in Journey Kids is more than supervising children during the Sunday morning service time. It’s an opportunity to instill and cultivate the gospel in the next generation. It’s a chance to shape the hearts and minds of our youngest attenders with the truth of Jesus. Would you consider joining our team of incredible volunteers?
Job Description of a Journey Kids Team Member
The heart of Journey Kids is to partner with parents and families as they disciple their children to follow Jesus. We seek to engage children in gospel-centered learning, cultivating their love for God’s word and walking alongside them each week, as they grow to treasure Jesus above all else.
Our volunteers create a safe, caring, and fun environment for our Journey kids to be known and belong, as we learn about Jesus together.
Open Volunteer Positions
Toddler Room Leaders and Team Members: we are in need of 4-6 people to serve in this room with our 1.5-3.5 year olds where they learn simple biblical truths and spend time playing with other children.
Elementary Room Leaders and Team Members: we are in need of 4-6 people to serve in these rooms with our K-5th grade children where they are taught gospel truths from God's word through lessons and fun activities.
JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE
We’ve created an 8-week Bible memory verse devotional to encourage our Journey Kids to dive into God’s Word this summer! Each week includes a Bible verse, short devotional, and a creative activity. Kids can recite their memory verse at Journey Kids on Sunday morning and earn a star sticker and a reward from the treasure chest! Download the summer devotional PDF below.
If you'd like to send Pastor Jeremy and his family a note of encouragement, we've created an email address for you to reach out to the Bedenbaughs. You can email them at email@example.com. Pray that Jeremy and his family would experience a season of rest and refreshment during this time!
The story of The Journey has been one of God using His people over and over again to provide, and we are asking you to prayerfully consider giving above and beyond your normal giving with a generous fiscal year end gift by June 30.
As we say in our mission statement, we want to see gospel spread "from our neighborhoods to the nations." This past month, Scott Hickox, lead pastor of The Journey West County preached on Luke 10 and shared a compelling vision for The Journey International. We want to encourage you to carve out sometime to listen to this powerful sermon and pray about how God might be calling you to partner with us.
Members of The Journey South County – you are invited to attend our next members meeting. It will take place immediately following the 10 a.m. Sunday service on June 10. You are a vital part of this church. Please come and hear about the great things God is doing in and through our church! Childcare will be provided for those who register.
On June 17, we will hold a child dedication during the 10 a.m. service.
Child Dedication is a special time for parents and guardians to publicly announce their intention to raise their child(ren) in a way that teaches about God and honors Him.
We dedicate our kids because we want to partner with our church family–making a commitment to raise our children in light of God’s promises. The Journey commits to support parents as they raise the next generation to love God.
