The Peace God Gives

Happy November Journey family!

Fall is a season that goes by quickly. No sooner have summer vacations and activities ended, than school resumes, schedules fill up, and the holidays swiftly approach.

We shared with you in September an update on our senior pastor search and Curtis’ candidacy for this role. While there is continued progress being made in the interview process with Curtis, there is not much new to share about the search at this time. We ask that you please continue to pray for Curtis and the team – and it is our hope to provide an update to you in the next few weeks.

For a long time, it’s been a conviction of the Board of Elders to communicate more consistently with local churches. What we recognize is that the majority of our communications to you focus on more formal updates about the life of our church. It is our desire, at other times, to have the opportunity to share with you what God is putting on our hearts as a means of encouragement to you. Continue reading

COMMUNITY GROUPS SERVING IN SOUTH COUNTY
A couple of weeks ago, several members from the Fox community group helped out Cindy Fox at their school book fair. Cindy is a school librarian and organizes these events every year, and she greatly appreciated their help! What a great picture of embodying love and caring and helping Cindy while also reaching out to the community! If you're not part of a community group, email us! We'd love to get you connected.

Open Table is an opportunity to embody love and demonstrate hospitality within our church family and community. It allows both hosts and guests to connect over a holiday meal, encourages a continued mindset of open tables and open hearts, and is a way to faithfully live out being the family of God in obedience to our Savior, who commands us to embody love to those within the body of Christ and those outside the church.

Interested in hosting or joining a table on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day?

Prayer walking has been described as “praying on-site with insight.” When you hear the sounds and see the sights of a particular place, you understand better how to pray for the people in that location!

Join us on Saturday, November 16, from 8-9 a.m. as we pray for Mehlville and for the Lord to make his name know right here. We will meet at the tennis courts in front of Bernard Middle School at 1054 Forder Road at 8 a.m.

Christmas is such a special time of year – a time of celebration, family, and the birth of our Lord! You are invited to join us as we prepare his house to celebrate his birth. There are jobs for every skill level so everyone can help! This is a family-friendly event, so bring your entire crew! Popcorn and hot chocolate are on us!

Come and join us on Friday, December 6, from 6:30-9 p.m. at The Journey South County for our women's shopping event! The night will provide a fun way to check those items off your shopping list. We will gather together to remember the many blessings each of us has been given – the gift of our church, each other, and the gift of Jesus Christ Himself.
