Metro East Family,

As we sit and reflect on the past fiscal year at Metro East and across all Journey locations, there is much to be celebrated. Within the last year across The Journey, we have celebrated as One Church:

  • Over 200 new members
  • 37 baptisms
  • 48 members sent on international short-term mission trips
  • Over 600 children participating weekly in Journey Kids
  • More than 3,800 counseling sessions through Karis House
  • Over 1,500 people involved in community groups
  • Over 3,100 people attending each weekend across our locations

God has been abundantly faithful to enable us to carry out our mission to enjoy grace, embody love, and engage culture. It’s exciting to think about how the Lord has used Metro East to spread His name and renown from our neighborhoods to nations. Some reasons for celebration at Metro East this year include:

  • 1,300 visitors came to our Easter egg hunt and block party and were engaged with the gospel.
  • 110 children in St. Clair County served through The Restore Network
  • Dozens of children were fed each weekend through Blessings in a Backpack at Signal Hill
  • 7 members and attenders were sent on short-term missions
  • Dozens of children were served at Abraham Lincoln through Kids for Christ
  • 84% of our members were actively involved in community groups

We know that the Lord has great plans for The Journey, and we are excited to see what He has in store for us next year as we continue to come together as One Church to move the mission forward. Your year-end gift allows us to end this fiscal year well and start next year strong as we aspire together to see our city awakened to and transformed by the love of Jesus. Our prayers and plans include:

  • Continuing to bless families in our community with gospel events, such as the Easter egg hunt and block party
  • Purchasing updated curriculum to help continue to engage our kids with the gospel and equip parents to lead their families
  • Providing low-cost counseling through scholarships and discounts at Karis House
  • Continuing to support both short-term and full-time global missions

Through your prayers and generosity, together, we can continue to move our mission forward. Would you prayerfully consider giving above and beyond your normal giving with a generous fiscal year-end gift by tomorrow, June 30? One gift at a time, your support makes the difference.
With Love,
Pastor Curtis and Metro East Elders

We lack nothing when we're willing to trust God with everything. Watch the full sermon from Curtis Gilbert at
We would love for you to join us the first Sunday of every month for our all church prayer night. This is an informal event where we pray for personal, church and global things going on in the world around us. Kids are welcome to participate!
Starting in June-July, we will not be having our normal students gatherings on Sunday nights. Instead, let's hang out during lunch for our lunch bunch. We will meet from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays right after service.
restore network foster family
The Restore Network expects to serve over 300 children from our foster families at our Back to School Bash this year! Partner churches across the county are working together to collect school supplies to fill backpacks at this event. The Journey has partnered to collect 295 sets of highlighters, and there will be a collection bin in the foyer until Sunday, July 22. Let's help make this event the highlight of their summer!
The story of The Journey has been one of God using His people over and over again to provide, and we are asking you to prayerfully consider giving above and beyond your normal giving with a generous fiscal year end gift by tomorrow, June 30.
