Hanley Road Family!

I am beyond excited to be called to The Journey Hanley Road as the new lead pastor! The Journey Hanley Road has a storied history in the St. Louis area. From its establishment as Hanley Road Baptist Church in Clayton to its present-day location in University City, this esteemed congregation has been a beacon of light for the gospel throughout the St. Louis region. Monique, Carlton, Nia, Maia, and I are favored and privileged by the Lord to be entering into the story of this wonderful faith family at such a unique and exciting time. This Sunday, June 10, we would love the opportunity to meet you in the lobby at 10:15 a.m. for a special time of meet and greet!

We know that God has sovereignly joined us together as pastor and people and planted us together in this place, for this time, for His glory. Jesus has promised us that the harvest of souls is plentiful (cf. Matthew 9:37) and has graciously invited us into his vineyard to serve His purposes and to gather His harvest. I look forward to locking arms in joyful service to our King, as we strive together for the advancement of the gospel and to see University City awakened to and transformed by the love of Jesus.

The Questioning God

Experience the God who pursues our hearts, who speaks to us through His word, and who asks us questions to invite us into deeper relationship with Him. This Sunday, we’re launching our new summer sermon series. We’ll explore passages in the Bible where God pauses to ask different individuals questions, revealing His character and nature to them. We’ll begin with God’s question to Job: where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

We've created an email address for you to reach out to Jeremy and Amy Bedenbaugh with words of encouragement. You can email them at thebedenbaughs@thejourney.org. Please keep their family in your prayers!
As we say in our mission statement, we want to see the gospel spread "from our neighborhoods to the nations." Last month, Scott Hickox, lead pastor of The Journey West County preached on Luke 10 and shared a compelling vision for The Journey International. We want to encourage you to carve out some time to listen to this powerful sermon and pray about how God might be calling you to partner with us.

Friday, June 15, 7-9 p.m.

Join us for a time to rest in God and His word and reset our minds on Him. Our speaker, Michelle Macon, will share on "Accepted in the Beloved: The Consequences of Not Knowing or Believing It." All women are invited and feel free to bring a friend! We will meet at Amanda Moller's home in UCity. The address will be sent in your registration confirmation. Please bring a lawn chair and an appetizer to share!

Saturday, June 23, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Journey Hanley Road's women's ministry is hosting a float trip this month!

Invite friends! You are welcome to meet at church to carpool. Karly Nelson will be in contact with all registrants to coordinate camping gear.

Registration ends on June 17.

The story of The Journey has been one of God using His people over and over again to provide, and we are asking you to prayerfully consider giving above and beyond your normal giving with a generous fiscal year end gift by June 30. Partner with us today!
