A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR CARLOS

Greetings Hanley Road Family!

Summer is well underway and vacations are in full swing. July is right around the corner, which means the Fourth of July is almost here. This coming week, many of us will be enjoying food, fun, and fireworks with our friends and loved ones. As we draw closer to this national holiday, I am reminded of the motto of the United States that is emblazoned upon each minted piece of currency: E Pluribus Unum (Out of Many One). This statement reflects the noble ideal that this country, made up of diverse peoples and regions, could come together to create something that would be greater through unity than it would be individually.

One of the most beautiful qualities of The Journey is that this body of believers models the unity and diversity of the church universal by being one church in 6 locations. Through cooperation and working together, The Journey has been able to have a greater impact in the St. Louis region than if each congregation were to go at it alone. Through our local churches and the service of our ministry partners, The Journey has made an incredible impact in St. Louis and beyond. Across all campuses, in the last 12 months, The Journey has seen:

  • Over 200 new members
  • 37 baptisms
  • 48 members sent on international short-term mission trips
  • Over 600 children participating weekly in Journey Kids
  • More than 3,800 counseling sessions provided through Karis House
  • Over 1,500 people involved in community groups
  • Over 3,100 people attending each weekend across our locations

By being one church with many locations, God has multiplied our impact for His glory. And yet, God is calling us to more. Please prayerfully consider giving a special gift, above and beyond your regular giving, by tomorrow, June 30, as we come to our fiscal year end. By giving through The Journey, you are participating in seeing lives changed and communities impacted, as we strive to see our city awakened to and transformed by the love of Jesus.

Alison and her family plan to continue worshipping at Hanley Road. We are so grateful for the many ways Alison devoted her time, energies, and talent at Hanley Road and served our church family! Kim Maple has stepped in as ministry assistant at our location, and you can contact her at kmaple@thejourney.org.

PRAY FOR OUR MISSION TEAMS!

During the months of June and July, we have two mission trips happening at The Journey! Please be in prayer over the coming weeks for these teams and the people they will encounter as they travel. Let's lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ as they seek to live out our mission to boldly engage our culture with the truth from our neighbors to the nations.

TOKYO
June 23-July 3 | 22 team members

Japanese people are the second largest unreached people group in the world with a population of 173 million, of which only .25% follow Jesus. The Journey has partnered with Grace Harbor Church, a growing church in the bay area of Tokyo, as they work to serve their city and introduce many Japanese to the gospel for the very first time.

HAITI
July 7-12 | 26 team members
Haiti is a country that has been marked by war, natural disasters, and economic depravity. Since 2010, The Journey has partnered with Christ’s Compassion Church in Haiti, empowering them to share the gospel through education, leadership training, and the construction of their first building.
