Black History Month

As we enter into this month, our desire is to Remind ourselves by learning about the past, considering its meaning, and reflecting on its impact; to Rejoice through celebration, honor, and worship; and to Respond by asking ourselves how what we now know should inform our choices today and tomorrow. Visit our website for specific ways to learn, celebrate, and engage with us!

Greetings from The Journey Board! We wish everyone a very happy, healthy 2020.
We have launched a new webpage that the Board hopes will provide better communication to all our Journey churches. You can find it here. We will post communications and other items of interest on the page as needed. We will also provide an archive of our older communications and board minutes.

Our goal in doing this is to better communicate with you and provide as much ongoing information and transparency to our congregations as possible.

Grace and peace,
Jeff Fox, on behalf of The Board of Elders

Join us and celebrate Laura Lane as we say goodbye and "see you laters" to her as she moves on to the next season of life over in Illinois. We'll be celebrating with Mexican food over at Meisner Elementary School in the cafeteria, so register now and sign up to bring an appetizer, side, or main dish (one per family). Laura is also gluten free so please keep that in mind!

Please let us know if you plan to attend by registering below!
Saturday, February 1, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

If you are interested in membership at The Journey, please join us at our classes to learn more. We believe that Christian faith is about relationships – our relationship with God and our relationships with each other.

Childcare is available upon request.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pastor Jason.

(RESCHEDULED) Friday, February 14, 6:30 p.m.

When is TULIP not a flower? When is a 3-pointer not a basketball shot? Find the answers to these questions and more at our Women’s Ministry crash course on Reformed theology. We’ll spend a couple hours munching on snacks and learning some lingo and history as we consider how big our God truly is. We hope you can join us, and if you do, was it predestined?!

Saturdays, February 15, 29, March 14, & 28

The Journey's premarital ministry is hosting the spring session of Four Weeks to a Great Marriage this month at The Journey Tower Grove! The session consists of a series of four group classes. Couples are paired with a mentor couple who will walk through the program with them. The classes and mentoring are open to engaged and recently married couples. Learn more and register for our upcoming session!

Sunday, February 16, 4-5:30 p.m.

All are welcome to The Journey's hosting of the Community Gospel Choir of St. Louis! Join us for a 4 p.m. performance on Sunday, February 16, at 829 N. Hanley Road, University City, MO 63130.

In alignment with Black History Month, The Journey and the Community Gospel Choir of St. Louis are excited to celebrate the contributions black Christians have made to sacred choral music.

This event is free, though we will be collecting a goodwill offering for the choir at the concert. Please register through the button below in order to let us know that you're coming!

If you have any questions, please email infohr@thejourney.org.

Thursday, February 20, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

If you have an interest in either plugging into the worship team, or just meeting and jamming with other musicians, you're invited to bring your acoustic and join us on the third Thursday of February (the 20th) for our Worship Workshop from 7-9 p.m. We'll cover topics ranging from best practices to how we approach playing music in the church in different contexts.

Save the Date! Saturday, March 14, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Pray for the Lou is a prayer movement on the streets of our city. It's a day for believers and churches to come together in unity and exalt the name of Jesus over our city as we prayer walk all 79 neighborhoods

Join us on Saturday, March 14, at The Journey South County at 10 a.m. as we prayer walk through our local community.

Find more info at prayforthelou.org.

Would you like to pray alongside others for the needs of the church?

If you'd like to join and receive regular prayer requests, please email infosc@thejourney.org, and we'll add you to the group! You'll receive emails when we have new prayer requests to share.
