PASTOR UPDATE FROM CURTIS

ADVENT

Across our locations, we are celebrating Advent – the season leading up to Christmas. It’s a time to reflect on the significance of Jesus’ birth and the hope we have because of it. We invite you to visit thejourney.org/advent and view our Advent guide with daily readings and devotions. Over the next 23 days, rediscover with us the story of Jesus’ birth and the promises He came to fulfill!

Open Table is an opportunity for us to embody love to those in our church family this season! We look forward to the ways that the Lord will bless and build us as we open our homes, extend our tables, and share a meal with one another. If you’re interested in serving as a host or being a guest for a Christmas meal, please email infome@thejourney.org.

UPCOMING EVENTS & NEWS
Sunday, January 6, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Join us for our all-church prayer in January! This is an informal event where we pray for personal, church, and global things going on in the world around us. Kids are welcome to participate!

Our mission is to partner with your family to help your children love God more today than they did yesterday, be discipled in the love and truth of Jesus, and to trust Jesus with their today, tomorrow, and eternity.

We are passionate about walking alongside your family and believe that everyone needs a safe place to belong where they can discover more about the hope that Jesus offers. Join us every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Song of the Month

This season, as we seek to celebrate and behold the glory of God that is fully displayed in the person of Jesus, our Emmanuel, we hope this new song by The Journey Collective will be a blessing to you. Download it for free!

Journey Kids Sick Policy

As we enter into cold/flu season, please keep in mind our sick policy. Please, do not drop off children who have exhibited any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:

fever • excessive/colored nasal drainage • persistent coughing • diarrhea • vomiting •
rash • any infection of the eye/nose/throat

The Family Room is available if needed. Thanks for helping us maintain a healthy environment for everyone!

Classrooms Update + Resources

As we enter into the holiday season, I wanted to give you a heads up on the status of the Journey Kids classrooms. On December 23 and 30 (Family Sunday), we will only have Journey Kids classes open for 0-3-year-olds. Also, we will offer childcare services for 0-3-year-olds during both Christmas Eve services (4 and 5:30 p.m.) Be sure to check in your child(ren) early as space may be limited.

Check out some Advent resources HERE. As always, my email is nstogner@thejourney.org if you have any questions!

Calling all bakers and decorators!

If anyone enjoys baking, we are in need of Christmas desserts for the party (cookies, cupcakes, cake bars, candies, brownies, etc). These need to be dropped off in the large kitchen by the gym by December 9! We will also be decorating for the annual Restore Christmas Party right after the Sunday morning service, so stay after and help us get ready for the party!

Please know that what happens in this church is because God works through your gifts, and your generosity. Would you pray about going above and beyond your regular giving and give a generous year-end gift to The Journey?
