Dear South County Family,

Where did the month of July go? Even though I am amazed at how time flies, Journey July at South County was something to look back on with gratitude.

We aimed to change our rhythms, to give our Journey Kids volunteers some rest, and to be more intentional in our church relationships. All the feedback I have received says it was a great change of pace! The children brought energy and were engaged in the whole service. We memorized 1 John 3:16 together as a church (do you remember the hand motions still?).  After service, we got to spend time together and enjoy some fun snacks. It didn’t even rain at the annual church picnic, though all the kids managed to get wet at the splash park!

The highlight of July was seeing three baptisms (Adam Sommer and Nic and Kelly Langford) outside after service. What a beautiful occasion to witness and celebrate as a church family – and a reminder to continue rejoicing and giving thanks for what the Lord has done and is doing among us this summer!

As rhythms change as we enter this new month, we recognize that summer is winding down and school is about to begin. We're excited for what the fall will bring at The Journey South County. See what our church family is up to in August below!

Pastor Jason

It’s in our human heart to be a part of something. And as God’s people, He has called us out by grace and unleashed us to the world to bring change through the gospel of Jesus – by being a part of the church. Pastor Curtis shares here a preview and vision for our upcoming fall sermon series on the church – its purposes, its people, and who it is through God’s eyes. We'll begin this new series on Sunday, September 8, at The Journey South County!

Marriage is an important relationship, one that we believe reflects God’s unconditional love for humanity (Eph. 5) and is meant to be a lifelong covenant commitment between one man and one woman. Four Weeks to a Great Marriage consists of a series of four group classes. Couples are paired with a mentor couple who will walk through the program with them. The classes and mentoring are open to engaged and recently married couples.
