Journey South County,

Spring has finally arrived. The flowers are beginning to bloom and the grass is getting greener. I am starting to see my neighbors working in their yards and taking walks around the neighborhood. It’s always a joy for me to catch up with my neighbors after a long winter season.

I want to encourage you to consider inviting your neighbors (friends and family as well) to one of the events in this newsletter. Let me highlight a few, but take a moment to read through the entire newsletter.

  • There is our annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 13. Invite the children in your neighborhood!
  • We will “Gather at the Cross” on Good Friday, April 19, with two local churches.  We hope to be a witness to the community about our unity in Christ. Do you have a neighbor who is skeptical because of church division? Maybe an invitation will break down that barrier.
  • Easter service on April 11 starts at 10 a.m. I encourage you to come early for photo booth pictures and to welcome our guests! Be willing to give up your seat if we are packed out. You might be surprised how open your neighbors would be to coming on Easter if you invited them.
  • I will be teaching a four-week class starting Monday, April 29, called “The Bible: Nuts and Bolts.” Do your neighbors ever pose questions to you about the Bible?  I hope you will attend and bring a neighbor friend as well.

Grace and peace,

P.S. If you don’t have lunch plans on Easter Sunday, I want to invite you over to our home after the service. Details are below!

If you don’t have plans for Easter lunch after the service, please come have lunch at our house! Email us and let us know you plan to come so we can work out the details. We’re going to do the meal potluck style, so if you have a favorite dish, you can share it with us. The more, the merrier! He is risen indeed!

The Journey St. Louis app is the new way to stay connected! Take and save sermon notes, view and register for events, access fast and secure giving, and watch or listen to sermons!

We’re adding new content weekly! Be sure to enable notifications so you don’t miss a thing!

In Curtis' recent generosity sermon, he shared about the good, lavish generosity of God. Here, he shows us how we can take the next step in generosity by using The Journey St. Louis app!

Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

All are welcome! The Journey South County will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt at Sylvan Springs Park at the Artillery and Cavalry Shelters. We will have thousands of candy-filled eggs, crafts, games, face painting, an Easter Bunny, and more. This will be a fun, family event for people of all ages!

You can see the morning schedule and register here at The Journey South County Facebook event page.

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming up on Saturday, April 13, and we are in need of volunteers for the actual event as well as preparing beforehand for the event! If interested, please email Laura at llane@thejourney.org
Friday, April 19, 7 p.m.

This Good Friday, three Affton churches invite you to gather as one community to celebrate the one true savior Jesus Christ.

Church @ Affton, The Journey South County, and Rooftop Church will host this special event, which is free and open to the public.

Together, we will gather at the cross to remember His awesome love for us. Expect great music, a message, and prayer in this one-hour, family-friendly service. Childcare will be provided for kids 5 years old and under.

The event is at Church @ Affton, which is located at 9607 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123. (SEE MAP)

Looking for somewhere to plug into the life of our church? The Journey South County's Production Team would love to help you do just that! Serving on the Production Team is a great way to connect to a broad community of volunteers and leaders in our church, while having quite a bit of fun! Watch this short video for more information on how to get involved.
April 5, 12, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
We are hosting an open hour of prayer during Lent on Friday nights. There will be no childcare, but children are welcome to attend.
Sunday, April 28, 12-1:30 p.m.

During the lunch, you will hear from some of our elders and staff, hear about ministries at the church, and learn about our mission and vision. *Limited childcare available upon request.

If you have any questions, please email infosc@thejourney.org.

Mondays 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. | April 29, May 6, May 13, and May 20

In this 4-week class, you will see how the Bible is put together, why the authors wrote each book, and what all of it means for your life today. What's more, you'll learn why the Bible can be trusted and how to answer common criticisms of the Bible.

Saturday, May 11, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

If you are interested in membership at The Journey, please join us at our classes to learn more! Becoming a member of a church is a way that we identify others who have committed themselves to living as a follower of Jesus.

Would you like to pray alongside others for the needs of the church?

If you'd like to join and receive regular prayer requests, please email Laura, and she'll add you to the group.
