Journey Kids takes a community serving together to cultivate the Gospel in the next generation. Journey Kids desires to provide a safe and fun place for children to learn about the Gospel and how all the true stories in the Bible point to Jesus. We believe that parents & caretakers are created to be the primary influence to live out the Gospel, but children also need other adult Christian influences.
As a church, we only have maybe 40 hours out of the year to engage with the children who join Journey Kids. It is vital that parents & caretakers teach the truth of God and the Gospel in the rhythms of their family life for the purpose of thinking about, talking about, and living out the Gospel.
We desire to walk alongside parents & caretakers and provide resources and encouragement so they can extend the lesson from Sunday throughout the week, or encounter the curious questions and thoughts that occur organically.
We currently utilize the Think Orange Strategy for all of the rooms in Journey Kids (infant-5th grade). The Orange Strategy encourages kids to Love God by inciting Wonder, to Love Life by provoking Discovery, and Love Others by fueling passion and by providing curriculum that is fun and developmentally appropriate.
First Look is the curriculum used in the Infant through Pre-K rooms. It provides weekly content that seeks to lead these young children to grow up believing that God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
252 is the curriculum used in the Kindergarten through 5th Grade rooms. 252 provides weekly resources to ensure that every kid grows up believing I need to make the wise choices, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
The Journey Kids Metro East invites infants (three months) through 5th graders to join the JK rooms on Sundays. There are other events that happen throughout the year.
Journey Kids Team Members make Journey Kids great! The special impact they have on the lives of the families they serve has eternal impact. We would love to tell you more about this amazing opportunity.
