Long-term missions in our church exists to see people groups around the world who do not yet know Jesus both have access to the gospel and an indigenous-led church established in their community.
It calls us to a life of great sacrifice, since long-term missions entails us crossing cultures for extended periods of time in order to see, by God's grace and Spirit, a church established in a particular community, or existing believers become empowered in multiplying churches to reach their own people.
Is Long-Term Missions For Me?
In order to pursue long-term missions at The Journey, we have a Mobilization Team whose job is to train, send, and support you – from your neighborhood to the nations with a plan for support while you are on the field!
Long-term missions at The Journey is a commitment of at least three years or more. Understanding the local language and learning to show and share the love of Jesus in a contextually relevant way does not happen quickly, and our hope is that those sent out by our church would, in most cases, endeavor to labor faithfully among their people group until the task is complete – meaning, each individual sent would know and worship Jesus and be helping others in their people group do the same!
