Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary

Human Resources Generalist will be responsible to administer processes in talent acquisition and employee offboarding, compliance with applicable laws, compensation, benefits, performance evaluation, employee development, and employee relations. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to collaborate with the Executive Director Care and Staffing to evaluate, create, and implement systems, strategies, and policies to ensure the smooth operation of the Human Resources department. As a member of the Ministry Support Team, The Human Resources Generalist will work as a vital team member that aims to provide necessary support and resources to our churches allowing employees to give their time and talents to the mission of our church,

Duties & Responsibilities, not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and implementing systems to monitor staff capacity & development
  • Manage, advise and execute all benefits and compensation packages
  • Periodically conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant laws
  • Maintain employee records in accordance with applicable laws and The Journey’s record retention policy
  • Collaborate with management to regularly review human resources policies and the employee handbook for accuracy, relevance, and clarity; creating new policies and making changes as needed
  • Manage, update, and maintain The Journey’s HRIS system and other record keeping systems
  • Advise managers on the legal implications of Human Resources issues related to employee discipline and grievances
  • Administer the performance review process to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization
  • Partner with management to facilitate the talent acquisition process
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement employee orientation and training programs
  • Prepare regular staff reports & recommendations to the Executive Support Team
  • Participate as a team member of the Ministry Support Team

Status: Part-time, Exempt
Schedule: Mon.-Fri.; TBD
Hours: 25+ hours/week, not to exceed 28 hours per week
Benefits: Accrued PTO, 403b
