  • Demonstrable skill as a musician (piano and/or guitar) and vocalist
  • Demonstrable ability to lead a band that shapes a consistently excellent worship experience
  • Demonstrable ability to verbally lead/engage a diverse congregation from the stage
  • Demonstrable ability to consistently write doctrinally-sound and engaging corporate worship songs

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute corporate worship elements for weekend gathering and special services (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Worship Nights) for The Journey - West County
  • Regularly craft unique arrangements of well-known songs and hymns
  • Shepherd, develop and lead a team of musicians, both professional and volunteer, in preparing, executing, and assessing weekly worship sets
  • Identify, audition, assimilate, and develop additional worship leaders and musicians
  • Create and manage web content (weekly blog) for West County Worship
  • Develop other leadership/pastoral gift-sets and use them, at the discretion of the West County Lead Pastor, as needs arise
  • Participate in the West County Leadership Team
  • Participate in the global worship leader network and participate in The Journey Collective with other Journey Worship Leaders
  • As opportunities and abilities rise, extend Leadership oversight to new Worship Leaders incubating for new Journey church starts
  • Oversee and/or lead the production team at The Journey - West County
  • Collaborate with other ministries at The Journey West County (example: Journey Kids and Students) as needed to help equip leaders, develop worship plans, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned

Status:  Full-time, exempt (4 weekends off per year)
Schedule: M-Th: 9AM - 5PM (moderately flexible); Sun 7 AM - 1 PM, available for special events & services; at discretion of Lead Pastor
Hours: 40-45/week
Reports to: West County Lead Pastor
