We believe that Jesus died for all of humanity and that includes the youngest of us. We also believe that God through the Bible calls us to bear the responsibility of raising up the next generation in the truth and love of God.
As a church we do so by providing age appropriate teaching from the Bible in environments specifically designed to foster joy, peace, development, safety, vulnerability, and belonging.
Journey Kids
On Sunday mornings during our 9 a.m. service, we currently offer age and developmentally appropriate groups for children, 1 years old - 5th grade. We show our children God's love and share His story through storytelling, worship, conversation, prayer, and play. Our time with the children is a precious addition to the time you spend with them nurturing their faith at home.
Throughout the year we also host many family events such as park meet-ups, movie nights, game nights, and so much more!
Journey Students
We meet with our students on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at The Journey South County from 6:30-8:00 p.m., and also strive to disciple them on a daily basis. We believe that we're all called to do the work of ministry, so through our weekly meetings and daily interactions with students, we seek to help them grow in their love for God and their understanding of His purpose for them.
During our Wednesday gatherings, we play games, enjoy fellowship, share a meal, study Scripture in a teen-oriented way, and break up into small groups to discuss a gospel-centered message.
We currently utilize the Think Orange Strategy for Preschool and The Gospel Project for our Elementary age students. For our middle school and high school aged kids we utilize various curriculums from RightNow Media.
The Orange Strategy encourages kids to Love God by inciting Wonder, to Love Life by provoking Discovery, and Love Others by fueling passion and by providing curriculum that is fun and developmentally appropriate.
The Gospel Project for Kids (Lifeway) explores Big Picture questions each week (e.g., What is worship?, Does God keep His promises?). Using this chronological Bible curriculum, we help kids see that every story points to Jesus.
RightNow Media has an almost infinite amount of prepared curriculum that we chose from based on the needs of our students and the questions they are asking. As students show up each week they will be learning about the God of the Bible, their savior Jesus, the beauty of the gospel, and what that means for their life; all of this presented by men and women from diverse backgrounds.
